    Question

    My insurance should have paid 100% of charges. Why am I being billed for a balance

    Answer

    Assuming we have complete and accurate insurance billing information provided at the time of visit, we only release a bill to you once we have received payment or denial from your insurance company. Simultaneously you should have received an explanation of benefits statement from your insurer showing the amount you are responsible for paying and why. We suggest you contact your insurer if you have any questions about the balance they have indicated is your responsibility to pay. The member services phone number for your insurer is usually at the back of your insurance card.

    Insurance Authorization & Pre-Authorization

    While we make every effort to know the referral and pre-authorization requirements of the insurance plans we are contracted with, we do recommend that you contact your insurance plan when attempting to confirm your plan requirements. Please check your insurance identification card for the telephone number to call.

    Insurance Participation

    Westcoast Radiology participates with all major insurer’s and provide full insurance billing. If you have insurance, you will only receive a bill from us if your insurance company denies payment or you have a co-payment or deductible due.
